The Archirecontra-Ancestral Blossoming: the spring festival
Axel Alvarado ChávezSomething we haven't told you is that sometimes we message our explorer friend Pablito Clavóunclavito III to tell us what's new and also to learn more about the Carabolean culture and be able to create more designs inspired by these lands full of magic and happiness.
Yesterday we received a letter in which he excitedly told us that the spring festivities of the Archirecontra-Ancestral Blossoming will soon be held, a celebration held in honor of an ancient assistant of the gods called A. (according to Pablito, A. has a longer name but the other letters are unpronounceable and illegible for humans) .
A., the farmer axolotl
A. is an assistant of the Carabolean gods in charge of reforesting the planet by bringing seeds from his celestial chinampa.
In fact, A. is also known as the Plant Resurrectionist. When you have a half-crushed plant in your house that you think is going to die, and the next day it's as good as new. A. is the one who brought it back to life while you were sleeping.
It's said that from the moment A. traveled to Earth to cultivate the first plants, he fell in love with the place so much that he decided to stay and live among the Caraboleans. And from time to time, he also comes to the human realm for a chat.
Since he likes to be mysterious, he doesn't like having his picture taken and is rarely seen, except when he's in line for tortillas or when he's buying land in Xochimilco.
For this reason, the little we really know about what he looks like comes from ancient inscriptions found in temples and some caricatured portraits made of him in Chapultepec.
The Great Spring Festival
Although everyone in the Ball-Face Lands celebrates the Blossoming festival, it is especially important for the inhabitants of the Green Territory (where the Corn Child comes from), since A. planted the first beings of this place.
This celebration is full of activities, one of which is for each inhabitant to plant a sapling while they sing the Axolotl Song (Pablito tells us it's a beautiful song that brought a few tears to his eyes). While everyone plants, A. flies by in his flying fish-canoe and sprays the crops with his magic fertilizer so there will be good harvests all year round.
As a good celestial being, A. is a little vain, so another of the activities carried out is to have them draw pictures for him and he gives rewards to the coolest ones.
The Archirecontra-Ancestral Blossoming is a very intimate celebration for the people of Carabolé; however, this year, you've been invited to participate in the drawing contest, which begins this Wednesday, February 24th. We're so excited!
