Nueva Normalidad: Cuidados para Creativos

New Normal: Care for Creatives

Axel Alvarado Chávez

We no longer know what color the pandemic traffic light will be next week, but one thing we can be sure of is that life goes on .

Although it's still best to stay home , many of us have to go out and keep working because those creative projects aren't going to complete themselves.

Take it easy in this "new normal" and follow these tips we have for you:

Don't let your guard down

With all the people back on the streets, one might think that COVID is gone and that face masks can now be consigned to the trash heap. Don't worry, but the truth is, the virus is still with us.

Just take precautions and continue protecting yourself, especially your mouth and eyes . Always keep your hands clean, greet everyone from a distance, and you won't have anything to worry about.

Everything online (or almost)

We know that many creative projects are difficult to complete online. For example, a muralist can't take the wall home, or a studio photographer has to be in their workspace to ensure everything goes smoothly.

But what all creatives can do from home is plan . Work meetings, brainstorming, and all the details behind each project can be done from the comfort and safety of your home office (if you're not comfortable with your home workspace, this blog will be helpful) .

Virus out

When you return home or to your studio after a successful day at work, don't forget to disinfect all your work equipment . You don't want to bring an unwanted viral guest into your space. Prevention is better than cure, especially in these times.

We recommend using alcohol-based sanitizers , such as isopropyl alcohol, or those based on natural ingredients like citrus fruits. Spray the product on a cloth and rub it on your work tools. Remember that COVID-19 loves to stick to metal and plastic, so scrub those materials more thoroughly.

Just don't spray anything on the most delicate parts of your tools or on electronic components. For example, don't spray anything on a camera's sensor or battery. That mistake could cost you dearly.

Likewise, disinfect everything that enters your home: your shoes, your dog's paws if you took them for a walk, your groceries, and even your online shopping packages.

Several local shops and creators , like us, pack your orders with great care and take sanitary measures to protect you. But it's best to clean the outside of the box before bringing it into your space, just in case...

Positive mind

We believe nothing makes us more vulnerable to illness than fear. Always have the best possible attitude and let your creativity flow. Just apply all the health protections you can.

So if you have to go out and work, don't be afraid! You can do it, we believe in you :)
