Relaxation in Times of Quarantine
Axel Alvarado Chávez
Have you ever felt bombarded with negative news? Rivers of information that awaken a monster inside our heads: Anxiety . And this villain causes one of the most feared ravages in our community: creative block *chan, chaan chaaaan*.
Our friend Globo recommends keeping a fresh mind and looking on the bright side of life at home.
Plan new adventures
Visit the ocean, climb a mountain, or explore the city. Maybe you've always wanted to take that trip, but your hectic daily routine didn't give you a chance to plan it properly.
Now the days seem to be more productive. Take advantage of your time to plan your itinerary for that great adventure that awaits you in the future. You can use your Cosmic Fighter notebook to keep all your ideas in order.
Your urban garden: the beginnings
We don't know why, but spending time with plants really relaxes us . Maybe it's a reconnection with nature, or maybe it's just because they look pretty.
Get a plant that can live in the same space as you and enjoy its eco-friendly presence. Give it plenty of sun and water it lovingly.
Extra relaxation points if they smell nice or give fruit afterward.
Enjoy your space
You probably have a special little corner in your home, and if not, we recommend creating one. Nothing beats a little space where you can read, write, paint, or whatever, in total relaxation while your creativity flows like a spring .
Globo likes to take advantage of his rooftop terrace; the sun's rays remind him of his home by the sea, and he finds good company in the plants. He was so engrossed in his book that he didn't even realize he was floating.
Time to play
At this point, relaxation depends on how intense the players are. If you're quarantining with others, bring out a board game and have a good time .
Between conversations and laughter, you'll see that creative block gradually crumble away.
If you're alone, play online with your friends or take advantage of the opportunity to watch the end credits of that video game.
Experiment in the kitchen
Just because we're stuck inside doesn't mean we're going to eat badly. Get in the kitchen and create a delicious dish. Order the ingredients, look up the tutorial online, and that's it.
If it turned out good, write down the recipe so you don't forget it. Few things make your mind work better than a happy stomach.
(If you make a big mess like Globo did, remember to clean up.)
Improve your technique
Look for online courses in your favorite creative field and learn new tricks. Practice what you love to do so you'll be even better once the quarantine is over.
You might find new topics catch your eye; don't hesitate to give them a try. You might emerge from confinement as a master with new skills.
